Explosion in Turkish capital kills 6

Terror act has been committed in Ankara, Turkey’s capital yesterday. The blast occurred during evening rush hour at the entrance to a shopping centre in the district of Ulus at 18.41 local time.

A-4 explosive killed 6 and injured 100 men. A Pakistan national was among the dead. Parts of the mall’s entrance collapsed, shop windows were blown out, debris was strewn across the street and police cordoned off the area as rescue workers carried injured people, many covered in blood, to ambulances. Unconfirmed reports suggest an explosive device may have been left at a nearby bus stop. Much of the front of one building was ripped off by the blast at the Anafartalar shopping centre. Police officers at the scene said A-4 plastic explosives were believed to the cause of the blast. A-4 is among the preferred explosives used by the outlawed PKK. Prime Minister Rajab Tayyib Ardoghan, armed forces Chief of General Staff General Yasar Buyukanit , opposition leader Daniz Baykal have arrived in the terror incident place. "This is an explosion by an organised terror group," armed forces Chief of General Staff General Yasar Buyukanit said after visiting the site. "You can expect this in any big city now.
Turkish media said the terror act could be an organized suicide against Yashar Boyukanit and other high rank officers of Turkey. That the terror act occurred on the way to the reception on the international defense industry fair which was attended by Yashar Boyukanit and Defense Ministers of other states, including Azerbaijan Defense Minister Safar Abiyev and Defense Industry Minister Yavar Jamalov draws attention.
Azerbaijan Ambassador to Turkey Zakir Hashimov said there are no Azerbaijani among the injured and killed.
