
National TV-Radio Council issued a decree on November 24 to close down ANS TV and Radio, informed Nushiravan Maharramli, Chief of the Council in his exclusive to APA. Maharramli said the Council decided at today’s meeting not to prolong the license of the TV, basing on Article 22.4 of the Law on TV and Radio Broadcast of he Republic of Azerbaijan. Under the decree ANS TV and ANS ChM Radio were made to stop broadcasting at 3 pm on November 24. Stating the frequencies of ANS TV and Radio would be open for sell Maharramli told the case would be solved through law enforcement bodies is the decree is not allowed. Saying that the Council had already submitted the decision to ANS Mais Mammadov, advisor of ANS president informed they would appeal the decision of the Council.
