Dear Mr. President,We were extremely concerned and troubled by the decision
of the National TV and Radio Council on closure of ANS TV and ANS ChM Radio
Station, authors of the most brilliant pages of the newest history of
Azerbaijan. Heydar Aliyev, national leader of Azerbaijan proudly stressed great
contribution of the channel to establishment of sovereign Azerbaijani State
several times. Mr. President, and You highly assessed role of ANS in growing up
the youth in the spirit of military-patriotism. May be ANS made certain mistakes
during its activity. But it is only non-workings and inactives who don’t make
mistakes. Though punishment measures taken by the National TV and Radio Council
are not adequate to those mistakes. Besides, Nushiravan Maharramli, chief of the
Council confuses the community by stating ANS does not obey to decisions of the
Council. However, Mr. Maharramli recently held quick reaction of ANS to remarks
and advises of the Council up as an example to other TV and radio stations in
the country at meeting in Baku Press Center. The decision of the Council has
greatly damaged TV palette of Azerbaijan as well as development of Azerbaijani
culture, which ANS always paid a great attention on its space. Depriving youth
of Azerbaijan, being on a war state with Armenia, from patriotism platform and
behaving with a channel propagandizing national and universal democratic
principles this way damaged international authority of our state. State
officials have concocted unbelievable pretexts to close ANS for several times.
The last such attempt happened in 1994. But ANS TV and ANS ChM Radio Station
returned to their deserved place under wise and resolute decision of national
leader Heydar Aliyev.Mr. President, All our hopes are to You, as the grant of
the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan. We believe You will do your best
to give us chance to watch and listen ANS TV and ANS ChM Radio Station. We hope
that You will solve this problem.Mr. President, Return ANS to Azerbaijani
